Why not have someone play for you and your guests, some of the greatest ever recorded music of the 20th Century , which effectively means EVER. I have arguably one of the largest collections (on vinyl LP, cassette CD and DVD) for an individual, of the recorded music of the 'Swing Era' (1936-1946) including a large library of music by bands such as Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, The Dorsey Brothers, Artie Shaw, Harry James, Frank Sinatra, Sinatra/Dorsey etc.etc. Among these, are some of their recorded 'live' performances and rarely heard material. I also have much of the recorded music of the British Dance Bands of the same era and jazz recordings. I play such music as required, and can compose/organise a music quiz to be included. The music requests of guests/clients can also be included in any programme. I normally dress in dinner jacket/bow tie - formal, but can be in WW2 military (US) uniform or a mix of both, i.e. formal first half, military second half or vice verca. This adds a little to the atmosphere on the occasion. Or lounge suit or even smartly casual if required. I DO NOT DO 'DISCO' or play music extremely loudly, as I firmly believe that people at any function should be able to hear others speak and not have to lip-read! The cost of having a 16 piece BIG BAND + vocalists (and ‘roadies’) to play for you would be anywhere between £3,000 and £8,000 ~ for two to three hours playing time. For rates please Email me.
